Hi, I’m Andrea.
I’ve spent my career helping elementary students fall in love with learning — or at least find their footing when school feels hard. I believe every child has a path that works for them. My job is to help them find it.
I started tutoring because I saw too many bright, curious kids walking out of classrooms feeling like they weren’t “smart enough.” That phrase still gets to me. Every child is capable of remarkable things. Sometimes they just need someone who’ll meet them where they are, slow down when they need it, and celebrate the small wins along the way.
My philosophy
I believe learning should feel a little bit like an adventure — full of curiosity, possibility, and the occasional silly detour. I’m patient. I’m encouraging. And I never, ever talk down to kids.
Three things shape every session:
- Start with what they know. Confidence first, challenge second.
- Make it personal. A reluctant reader and a future novelist need different roads.
- Keep it joyful. If we’re not having at least a little fun, we’re doing it wrong.
My background
A placeholder bio for now — Andrea will fill this in. Think: years of classroom experience, the credentials and certifications that matter, the ages and subjects she’s worked with, and any specialized training (reading intervention, learning differences, etc.).
Outside of tutoring
A short personal touch goes here — a sentence or two about hobbies, family, pets, or whatever Andrea wants families to know about who she is as a person. Parents love seeing the human behind the tutor.
